I am Cécile, born and raised in the City of Lights : Paris.
Storyteller at heart, I have been documenting the world around me pretty much my whole professional life. As a broadcast journalist first. For the last 15 years, I have worked as a freelance writer and television filmmaker, both in France and abroad. I produce reportages and documentaries mostly focused on topics that really matter to me : society, education, travel and history.
The more I got to interview people from various backgrounds, and tell their stories, the more I felt the urge to use my editorial skills and express my creativity through another medium, my longstanding passion : PHOTOGRAPHY.
As far as I can remember, I have always loved the aesthetic of still images. As with painting, photography stimulates the viewer's imagination. It's an invitation to slow down, and look deeper beyond the surface, to unveil what the whole story could be.
More than that, I do believe photographs can really be as powerful as words - if not more - when it comes to convey emotions.
So here I am. As a photojournalist, I use all the narrative and framing techniques I know to cover any kind of story. So the images I take are not just pretty / instagram-material, instead they mean to reflect reality with style and sensitivity.
